42. How 2020 Changed Fashion Forever and For Good: Kimberly Lewis and Amy Williams

December 28, 2022 | interview by Nada Jones

Kimberly Lewis is the owner and buyer of Emerson Grace, a women’s elevated-casual contemporary boutique in Nashville, Tennessee. Kimberly oversees the creative and fashion direction for the store alongside a team of stellar managers and stylists who go beyond selling to build relationships to encourage women to discover and realize their own personal style.

Amy Williams is the CEO of Citizens of Humanity, a premium denim company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. In her role, Williams oversees all aspects of the business for the company’s family of brands including Citizens women’s and men’s divisions, as well as women’s denim labels AGOLDE and GOLDSIGN.

In this episode, Nada sits down with Kimberly and Amy to reflect on their experiences as a retailer and fashion manufacturer navigating a year like no other. Listen as they share the lessons they’ve learned, how business as usual will never return and why that’s a good thing, and the ways they shifted their business for good. Whether Kimberly’s pivot with “shopping from the rack” or Amy's decision to use their facilities to manufacture masks for customers and essential workers in LA, these two CEOs took 2020 head-on with heart!
